Minnesota Wage Exemption Attorney

In any case where a debtor is a natural person and is going to be garnished, they must be provided with a garnishment exemption notice. This is important because often times a debtor will be able to protect a significant portion of their income from garnishment. Federal law holds a 25% constraint on the amount of wages that can be attached. Furthermore, Minnesota law includes a minimum wage exemption. In Minnesota, a creditor cannot garnish an amount that would decrease your earnings to below minimum wage at 40 hours per week.
