Shirley I. Chase
With over 25 years of experience, attorney Shirley Chase is a recognized leader in employment law, including employee rights and employer defense.
Shirley was appointed by Governor Jesse Ventura where she served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, which oversees Minnesota’s workers compensation system. Her exceptional understanding of employment law and rigorous representation of her clients sets her apart.
As a native of Minnesota, Shirley attended the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law, graduating with honors.
She subsequently served as General Counsel and President of EduServ Technologies and as Counsel for ITT Commercial Finance.
Her legal experience includes successfully representing clients in difficult employment situations, in hearings and mediations before Minnesota and federal agencies, and representing parties in a wide variety of employment law issues including discrimination, workers compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Minnesota Human Rights Act, defamation, covenants not to compete, and various other employment claims.
In addition to a prominent employment law practice, Shirley also represents clients in business and real estate law. Shirley serves as an Of Counsel attorney with the Twin Cities Law Firm.
