Lucas J. Thompson

Before joining Twin Cities Law Firm, Lucas (“Luke”) Thompson had established a distinguished career working with the largest U.S. corporations, the largest law firms in Minnesota, and prominent judges like Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Russell Anderson and United States District Court Judge Ann D. Montgomery. With inspiration from his hard-working father, a CPA in Luke’s home state of Iowa, Luke values honest and straightforward communication with his clients.
Luke graduated in 2005 from Columbia Law School where he served as Executive Editor of Columbia University’s Journal of Environmental Law. Luke earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy in 2001 at Iowa State University, where he was a recipient of a national merit scholar scholarship; worked as a film and travel columnist for the Iowa State Daily; served as a tutor of statistics, philosophy, and psychology; and was recognized for seven semesters on the dean’s list.
As a licensed attorney, Luke served as clerk for Chief Justice Russell Anderson of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He is also a former litigation associate at Faegre & Benson, the largest law firm in Minneapolis.
Luke joined Twin Cities Law Firm in 2011 and now leads cases involving complex business law, lawsuits, and intellectual property. He practices in both state and federal courts.
Luke has extensive experience in litigation involving business law, contracts, fiduciary duties, unfair trade practices, defamation, fraud, trademark infringement, Trade Secrets Act violations, and business ownership fights.
Luke believes that he serves his clients most effectively when he makes responding to their needs, questions, and concerns his number one priority.
